Tonia Antoniazzi MP

Vice-Chair,
All-Party Parliamentary Group on Modern Languages

Before being elected as the Labour MP for Gower, Tonia worked as Head of Modern Languages, dedicating her professional life to helping young people achieve their potential. Tonia is not a traditional politician, but has a deep passion for tackling social injustice and inequality. She continues to campaign against any Brexit deal that will detrimentally affect her constituents. Since being elected Tonia has been dedicated to making sure that medical cannabis is available to children with intractable epilepsy.  Working with the End Our Pain Campaign, Tonia secured a change in the law reclassifying cannabis for medical use. As a single parent, Tonia is a founding member of the APPG on Single Parents, and has taken a prominent role in setting up a group in Gower supporting 1950s women fighting for pension equality. Since being elected Tonia has been selected to serve on the Women’s and Equalities Committee and the Welsh Affairs Committee, and continues to fight for those who don’t have a voice.
