  • Considering how secondary schools can work more closely with primary schools to increase continuity of and enthusiasm for language study into KS3 and beyond
  • Examining the gender divide in language study, and the attainment gap between disadvantaged pupils and more privileged peers, and considering how to tackle this through extra curricula activities and re-framing the benefits of studying MFL
  • Discussing how to work with parents who may discourage children from choosing to study MFL, by ensuring they are fully informed of the positive impact these subjects offer their child at present, as well as for future prospects
  • Outlining the range of ALL projects encouraging the uptake and improvement in the quality of MFL, such as Language Futures which researched pupil’s motivations, and how schools can get involved with these
